1. What we aim for

We design and build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That covers things like keyboard navigation, colour contrast, screen-reader compatibility and resizable text. Where we work with public-sector partners (the NHS, Sport England, the Department for Education), we treat the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 as applying to the site.

2. How accessible this site is today

The site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA: most pages meet the standard, a few fall short on specific criteria, and we are working through the list. You should be able to:

• Resize the text up to two hundred per cent without losing content or function.
• Navigate every page using only a keyboard.
• Use the site with a screen reader such as VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS for everything except the items called out below.
• Zoom in to four hundred per cent on a single column.
• Read body text with a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.

3. Known issues we are working on

This is the live list. We update it as we fix things and as new issues are logged.

• Some marketing photographs do not yet have descriptive alt text. They carry a short placeholder description while we caption the full library. Target fix: rolling, with new sessions reviewed every fortnight.
• The members-area dashboard cinematic background uses a long ken-burns animation. We honour prefers-reduced-motion, but the animation still ticks briefly on first paint. We are moving the trigger inside the media query.
• The shop image grid uses a 1:1 ratio that crops faces on some apparel hero shots when the grid switches to a single column on phones. Replacement images are being shot at multiple ratios.

4. Alternative formats

If you cannot use part of the site, write to support@heatlhynation.co.uk and tell us what you need. We can send programme information by post, in large print, in plain-text email, or as an audio recording. We aim to reply within five working days. Tell us if it is urgent (for example, you need it before a programme starts) and we will move faster.

5. Feedback and contact

We are always glad to hear how the site works for you in real use, especially if you use assistive technology. Write to support@heatlhynation.co.uk with what you tried, what happened, and what you expected. Screenshots help but are not required.

6. Enforcement and escalation

If you contact us and are not happy with our reply, you can complain to the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which enforces the 2018 accessibility regulations in England, Scotland and Wales. The EHRC's details are at equalityhumanrights.com. For Northern Ireland, the equivalent body is the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.

7. How we test

We run automated checks (axe-core and Lighthouse) on every build of every page. We run a quarterly manual review with keyboard-only navigation and screen-reader testing on the ten most-used pages. Our last independent audit was conducted on {{LAST_AUDIT_DATE}} by {{LAST_AUDIT_PROVIDER}}; the report and our action plan are available on request.
