Play. Learn. Grow.

The proposition · Play · Learn · Grow

Three pillars. One simple bar — does this get a teenager off the sofa?

Broader than a fitness brand, more credible than a wellness brand. The work is participation, not performance — measured in hours moved, meals shared, friends made.

Play

Free programmes in every borough. Football, athletics, swimming and informal play in schools, parks and community spaces — run with GLL, Better and the FA.

Learn

Curriculum-aligned material with the Department for Education and the FSA. Nutrition, sleep, mental health — taught honestly, without scaremongering.

Grow

A members area for tracking habits and routines. Considered apparel and hydration. A premium performance tier (OPHI) for athletes who train year-round.

The numbers

Three statistics. One reason this exists.

1 in 4
UK children · clinically obese by age 11

The single statistic that started this work. Childhood obesity is the leading driver of long-term NHS cost.

142hr
Movement we aim for, per child, per term

An hour a day, every school day. Not aspirational — the WHO floor for children aged 5 to 17.

2030
Target year · halve childhood obesity

A government commitment. We are one of the delivery partners; we hold ourselves to the same number.

The full evidence base — sources, methodology and partner-reviewed targets — is published openly on the Movement page.

How it works

Three steps. Then you are in.

Membership is free, for life. The only thing we ask is that you show up.

— 01

Find your borough

Search your postcode and we'll show every free programme running near you this month — football, swimming, athletics, informal play. No app required.

— 02

Bring a friend, or don't

Every programme is drop-in. Bring a friend if you have one; we'll introduce you if you don't. The first session is always the hardest, which is why we make it easy.

— 03

Track what matters

Hours moved, meals shared, friends made. The members area is where it all lives — honest, ad-free, and entirely yours.

The brand

A revolution in posture, not a retailer.

Heatlhy Nation does not stand alongside other fitness brands; it stands alongside national institutions. The mark is editorial, the language is plain-spoken, and the work happens before it speaks.

Our test is simple. Place the mark beside the NHS roundel and the Sport England seal on a partnership page; it must hold its own without apology. Place it on a hoodie a fifteen-year-old wears to school; they must not be embarrassed.

The portfolio

Eight sub-brands. One master mark.

Each earns its own audience and its own surface — but every one is anchored to Heatlhy Nation. Forest green is shared; one accent colour separates them.

“We do not measure success in steps or in calories. We measure it in the number of children who, on a Thursday afternoon, choose to get off the bus a stop early.”

What people say

From the people who showed up.

I didn't think a Thursday five-a-side was going to change anything. Six months in, my fifteen-year-old asks when the next session is.

The honest answer is the free programmes are as well-run as anything I paid for. The coaches turn up, the kids come back.
